Two ways with Cadbury Caramel Spread

That caramel spread was just too delicious for one baked good.... so I made two!

If you've spotted Cadbury Caramel Spread but not added it your basket you absolutely must. I'm not sure how long Cadbury caramel spread has graced our shelves but I'm glad I found it eventually. It's only as a baker with a huge sweet tooth would I indulge in something like this - it's not an everyday toast spread mind you, but I knew it would be fantastic in a slab of brownies and a tray of cookies! And when you're stuck on what to make, not quite sure if you want a brownie or a cookie? I've got you covered with two recipes.

You'll only need one jar of this Cadbury caramel spread. You could make the brownies one week and the cookies the week after using what's remaining. Both recipes are also great for freezing and also easy to give out to family, friends, co-workers etc so there's really not much else to excuse you from baking them. I've used my easy brownie base recipe and chocolate chip cooke recipe but pimped them up a little. And honestly this spread tastes exactly like the caramel from the dairy milk chocolate bar, it's quite addictive!

Brownies

The brownies are super fudgy and even gooier with this lovely spread swirled through them. I added the spread in between the brownie batter before baking so that each bite has a mouthful of that caramel flavour. And then once baked I topped the brownies with a cube of dairy milk caramel chocolate so there's a little crunch to the texture. I try to use the least amount of ingredients as possible to not overcomplicate things and so that they're easily accessible.

Ingredients you'll need for these brownies:

  • dark chocolate
  • butter
  • eggs
  • caster sugar
  • plain flour
  • cocoa powder
  • Cadbury Dairy Milk caramel chocolate bar
  • Cadbury caramel spread

Cookies

For the cookies, it's really simple to make the chocolate chip cookie base. The extra addition is freezing some teaspoons of the caramel spread and then you wrap the cookie dough discs around the frozen spread. Which is way easier frozen than trying to do it at ambient temperature - you end up with caramel everywhere. Once baked, again like with the brownies I add a cube of dairy milk caramel chocolate on top for even more caramel flavours. Wow do I feel hungry writing this!

Ingredients you'll need for these cookies:

  • unsalted butter
  • light brown sugar
  • vanilla
  • egg
  • plain flour
  • bicarbonate of soda
  • salt
  • cornflour
  • chocolate chips
  • Cadbury Dairy Milk caramel chocolate bar
  • Cadbury caramel spread
